10. DDP Puts Oliver Platt Over (Ready To Rumble, 2000)
Once upon a time, wrestlers were fiercely protective of their industry. While many fans assumed that the sport wasn't on the up-and-up, you'd never catch a trained grappler breaking kayfabe, either accidentally or intentionally. That's why David Schultz slapped legitimately slapped John Stossell when the 20/20 host had the temerity to question WWE's legitimacy. Fast forward to 2000, though, and WCW released Ready To Rumble, a film that acknowledged that wrestling was a show. While that was hardly news at the turn of the millennium, the film managed to go a step further by insulting its core audience - the final battle between Diamond Dallas Page (Diamond Dallas Page) and Jimmy 'The King' (Oliver Platt) is portrayed as a shoot, with the dumpy actor getting the victory over the three-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Platt's performance is actually one of the better aspects of the movie, but seeing him beat Page (and throw him into a portable toilet while threatening to make him his 'sh*thouse b*tch') is more than a bit surreal.
