20 WWE And UFC Controversies Created By Brock Lesnar

20. Possibly Blading At WrestleMania 31

For years now - basically throughout the "PG Era" - the WWE has been against intentional bloodletting at their events. The act, known as blading, involves wrestlers cutting themselves open with razor blades to "juice" during matches. At its peak in the attitude era, blading was extremely common, but concerns over blood borne illnesses and having a family friendly product saw the practice become a thing of the past. It's an act that can now lead to suspension of fine (or both). However, at WrestleMania 31, Lesnar wound up bloody. Was it legit? Was it a blade job? A controversy erupted when a clip of the event was posted online that appeared to show the ref passing something to Roman Reigns, believed to be a blade to pass off to Lesnar.
It caused a firestorm of controversy on the internet, though Lesnar was never fined or suspended. There was also an alternate explanation: the ref was simply checking on Reigns, using the old "squeeze my hand if you're okay" approach. While there was never a definitive answer, Lesnar's injury did look legit, and either way, he was never fined.
