It’s arguable that the period after the Money in the Bank ladder match is more significant that the bout itself, as that’s when the potential champion starts to really write his legacy.

In some cases—when the winner holds onto the contract for a much longer amount of time—that statement is especially true.

The man who held onto the briefcase for the longest time ever just happened to be our first ever winner as well; the Rated-R Superstar Edge. He remained in possession of the contract for a whopping 280 days before cashing in on John Cena at New Year’s Revolution 2006.

For the record though, Seth Rollins came just seven days short of tying that record with his cash-in at WrestleMania this year. It probably worked out for the best that way though, truth be told.
