20 WWE Royal Rumble Undercard Nightmares

1. Scott Steiner Vs Triple H (2003)

The latest WCW alumni to sit out their bulging Time Warner guaranteed contract before making the jump to WWE, Scott Steiner arrived at November's Survivor Series, lighting up Madison Square Garden with a profanity-laden promo and a swift sh*t-kicking for midcarders Chris Nowinski and Matt Hardy.

Despite WCW's grisly end, 'Big Poppa Pump' came in with an awful lot of shine, and was well pitched against bodybuilding fanatic Triple H, who was a due Pay-Per-View classic or two after an underwhelming 2002.

What followed was a match so heinously bad, that by Wrestlemania that year, Steiner wouldn't even make the card, and a match centred around Hunter being a racist was deemed more acceptable than having another one like this.

With both carrying injuries and about 40lbs too much on their upper bodies, the clash rapidly descended into an immobile mess, with Steiner only capable of limp suplexes and Triple H failing at reproducing every 80s Ric Flair shortcut he could remember.

Flair himself couldn't save it, farcically running interference the entire match until the two heels eventually drew a shameful disqualification finish.

Gone by early 2004, this shambolic first impression could never be undone, and save for another lousy rematch between the two, Steiner was rendered worthless for the remainder of his 18-month tenure with the organisation.
