20 WWE Wrestlers Who Hated Each Other In Real Life
8. Sin Cara & Alberto Del Rio
The current Sin Cara might be fresh off (allegedly) putting Simon Gotch in his place backstage, but the gimmick’s original portrayer (Mexico’s Mistico) has a notable, multi-year rivalry with Alberto Del Rio that stems all the way back early days in Mexico. The duo frequently wrestled one another in CMLL, and regardless of whatever backstage politics corrupted their relationship, Del Rio and Sin Cara’s real-life rivalry has manifested on-screen on a number of occasions.
Most notably, the duo were wrestling one another on an September 2012 edition of Monday night raw. The match was Del Rio attempted to remove Sin Cara’s mask, which is considered a huge insult in their home country, and while this was reported as an “accident”, their history suggested otherwise.
There are countless reports to Del Rio and Sin Cara getting into backstage fights over the years. Konnan once revealed that Sin Cara went so far as to pull a gun on Del Rio at the height of their animosity, and while this has never been corroborated, ADR also appeared to work stiff with Cara every time they appeared on WWE television.
When an August 2013 match between the pair was stopped at Cara's call after the masked man suffered a dislocated finger minutes into the bout, ADR began to lay in a couple of potato shots and was supposedly furious with his compatriot backstage.
The two appeared to have put things aside after teaming together in Mexico’s AAA promotion last year, but it didn’t last long: Del Rio took to Twitter to launch a volley of threats at the former Sin Cara shortly after the event.
