Earlier in the show, Lex Luger said he wanted a match with the Macho Man after the Hogan bout since he still had unfinished business with Savage. As Luger was cutting a promo, Savage (who recovered remarkably quickly from a chair shot to the head), attacked Luger and was gaining momentum until WCW's most popular soldier, Sting, came out to save the day. As always, the place came unglued and as the nWo appeared and watched on, Sting nailed the Macho Man with a Scorpion Death Drop.
