Losing in the Rumble curtain jerker was bad enough, but surely that meant Bryan would go on to feature strongly and maybe even win the 2014 Royal Rumble? Right? Wrong! In one of the most ill advised bookings of modern times, WWE completely over looked Bryan for the Rumble match. Instead they booked Batista to enter at number 28 and win the match. It went down like a lead balloon. Spare a thought as well for Rey Mysterio, who entered at 30, the spot fans were hoping Bryan would be in. When it turned out to be the masked star and not the bearded star, the usually popular Rey was booed out of the building. The fan revolt that happened in the weeks afterwards was staggering, with even the mainstream media picking up on Bryan's story.
