Shortly after the dismal Kane feud, Bryan vacated the title and left to have neck surgery. He was gone for the best part of a year, but did return in time to have a sensational match with Roman Reigns at Fastlane 2015. In a WTF piece of booking, the company then booked Bryan in a ladder match at WrestleMania 31. A guy who just missed a year with a neck problem, now booked in a ladder match? It wasn't exactly a sensible bit of match making! He won the Intercontinental Title that night, but was gone again a short while later, with concussion issues ruling him out for the majority of that year. Which brings us to the present day, and his shocking retirement at just thirty four years of age. He cut one of the most emotional speeches in Raw history this past week, and it was hard to accept that his journey really was over. There's been so many ups and downs, so many unexpected developments in his career. All that is left now is the memories, many of them being WTF career moments due to WWE's inconsistent booking. He made it based on the strength of his wrestling and character, and for that reason, fans will forever remember his contributions to the business.
