Following the loss to Sheamus, Bryan rehabilitated himself somewhat in an excellent WWE Title feud with CM Punk. Although ultimately the loser, the matches were excellent. But it wasn't just the title that Bryan and Punk were fighting over, there was also a love triangle with AJ Lee. As part of this story, Bryan proposed to AJ, and a "wedding" was booked for Raw 1,000. With Bryan clad in a ridiculous white suit, it was already humiliating, and the story only added to making him look like a goof. AJ dumped him, saying that she had instead said "yes" to being the new general manager of Raw. Bryan acted devastated, and like all WWE weddings, it was just one big WTF nonsense angle.
