This angle had Vince McMahon's creative input all over it. The story was that The Undertaker and Paul Bearer had kidnapped Stone Cold Steve Austin. They took the star to a funeral home and planned on embalming him alive. As part of this process, Taker raised a ceremonial knife, seemingly about to bury it into Austin's heart. But as the viewing audience held their breath, none other than Kane ran in. The Big Red Machine made the save, thankfully allowing Austin to fight another day.
