What happened next was shocking / hilarious, depending on your age at the time. Locked in the casket, smoke started coming out. The Undertaker's spirit then appeared on the titantron screen, cutting a promo about returning one day. The graphic then displayed his figure rising to the roof of the arena. The idea was that The Undertaker had been killed and gone to heaven. Actually, he was just resting a back injury.
