21 WWE Stars Who Have Wrestled The Most Smackdown Matches

17. John Cena - 141 Matches

Given how he's been the face of Raw for ten years now, many fans overlook the sterling work that John Cena did on Smackdown from 2002 to 2005. He memorably debuted in WWE on the Thursday night show, taking on Kurt Angle. He then meandered through meaninglessness, before lucking in on his rap gimmick. That transformed him and enabled him to have a hell of a break out year in 2003. His 2004 was even better, as he became US Champion and got over as a babyface. But the cracks were already beginning to show, with some in the audience rejecting him. Before that, he'd been one hell of a heel, and it is a shame that his 2003 character was so shortlived. He left Smackdown in 2005, but has been back for the occasional match in recent years.
