Matt Sydal, then under WWE employment as Evan Bourne, famously mangled his foot in a March 2012 motorcycle accident, breaking his foot in four places and dislocating it in a further five areas. Despite having performed regularly since then, the ex-WWE Tag Team Champion has been wrestling on borrowed time for twelve years, having finally undergone treatment in June to fix the damage.
Given the extent of the operation - Sydal's surgeon had to break three bones and fuse them back together in what sounds like a grisly procedure - there is no accurate timeline for when Matt Sydal will return.
