18. Mick Gets It Right

For the first time in RAW history, Mick Foley announced the name of the red brand's Clash of Champions event correctly.

Given that Mick is steeped in wrestling folklore, he is aware that WCW, a company he used to work for, had an even called Clash Of The Champions. Needless to say, he's been saying that version every time the updated WWE name has been required in his promos and the like.

I sympathise with Mick here as it's an easy mistake to make, and let's face it, WWE were being a tad pedantic by taking the 'the' out of the title anyway. Why did they do it? Just to make it sound more dramatic?

It would be like taking the 'the' out of King of the Ring, making it just King Of Ring.

How stupid does that sound?

Anyway, after a few weeks of saying it incorrectly, Mick Foley called the name of an event he's putting on correctly for the first time.

I suppose it counts, even though the outdated version he has been saying sounds better than the modern day counterpart.
