22 WWE Stars From The 2000s That You Totally Don't Remember
20. Gavin Spears
Anyone remember Gavin Spears? What do you mean 'no'? This is the guy who lit up ECW on SyFy for two whole weeks in the summer of 2008, having classic (not really) matches with Ricky Ortiz (more on him later) and Super Crazy. Spears, real name Ronnie Arneill, signed with the WWE in 2006 after impressing at a tryout. He grafted in OVW and FCW for two years before being brought up to TV as part of Teddy Long's 'New Superstar Initiative' on ECW. Showing how much he was valued by the company, he lost to Ortiz in his debut match. Two weeks later he was defeated by Super Crazy. Following that loss, he went back to FCW for a few months before being called up again. This time he was staring at the ceiling for Finlay, in what turned out to be his last match for the company, as he was released weeks later. Or was it his last match for the company? After a few years working the indies, he was re-signed by WWE in September 2013. He now wrestles on the NXT brand as Tye Dillinger, although he's hardly being groomed for future stardom. Now 34 years old, it's doubtful that he's ever going to make it on the big stage.
