22 WWE Stars From The 2000s That You Totally Don't Remember

21. Palmer Canon

Palmer Canon was a character introduced by WWE as a way of taking a shot of then-Smackdown network UPN for what they perceived as increasing, unnecessary interference in the product (specifically the axing of the Muhammad Hassan character). He would book matches and meddle in story-lines on behalf of 'the network'. It was similar to what WWE did with Right to Censor back in 2000/2001, but this time it wasn't as memorable. The most memorable thing about Canon's WWE stay was the manner in which he left the company. Tired with the constant hazing of JBL and others, he decided to fly himself home from the post-WrestleMania European tour in April 2006. Canon and JBL nearly had a serious confrontation and, realising that the ribbing wasn't going to stop anytime soon, Canon left the company. WWE officials tried to convince him to stay but his mind was made up. After leaving WWE he found some success in amateur MMA leagues, which means he probably could have taken JBL in a fight, had their confrontation come to blows.
