23 Things We Learned From Edge & Christian On Stone Cold's WWE Network Podcast

9. Going From Sexton Hardcastle To Edge

Austin inquires about Edge's first name before he came to WWE - Sexton Hardcastle - which is one of the greatest names ever. He talks about how cheesy it was and then says one of his own potential names was Sampson Sinclair, which is nowhere near as cool. Christian said he wore a mask and scrubs and wrestled as The Male Nurse for a while, which is worse than either. Austin asks where the Edge character came from and what the idea behind it was, and he says that he has no idea. When he first came in he was supposed to wear chains and read poetry, but he didn't want to do that so he pushed for an alteration. He said that his trademark scream came from when he'd blank on a promo. Austin asks who Edge was looking back, and he responds that he was a confused kid trying to make his way in the business.
