Dave Lagana was one of WWE's main writers from 2002 until 2008. He had worked on the Smackdown brand, but was on the ECW show when he lost his job in 08. His firing was a bit of a mystery, and rumours soon started circulating that he'd had an incident with one of The Undertaker's friends. Someone backstage said something to someone else about it, who then said something to The Undertaker. Not long after, Lagana was gone. On his way out, he apparently briefed his colleagues that loyalty meant nothing compared to the word of The Undertaker. It is a demonstration of the power that The Undertaker wields in WWE. His own ego is driven ahead of the company interest at times, as Lagana had absolutely been one of the better creative team writers.
