Englishman Les Thornton was a five-time NWA Champion throughout his illustrious, 32-year in-ring career. Regarded as one of the most rugged workers to ever come from the UK, Thornton made up for his lack of flash with serious credibility and a no-nonsense style.

He was 84 years old when he died on 1 February.
