The action finally returns to the ring, and Bret begins to work over Stone Cold's surgically-repaired knee. Suddenly, Austin hits the Stunner out of nowhere! He doesn't even kick the gut to set it up, making it all the more surprising. It's clear that back in 1997, the Stunner wasn't quite as over as it would later become. It gets a huge pop, sure, but Bret bounces up within seconds and continues to work the leg. He's clearly been watching Karate Kid, hitting a few merciless leg sweeps. Austin's selling is on point throughout.
