19. The Live Aspect Was Dropped Due To Financial Struggles
Despite the demand amongst fans to attend the shows, it wasn't really working out to be cost effective in filming the shows live. It was a financial drain and a logistical nightmare to set up and unpack each week, so Vince McMahon made the decision to drop the live aspect of Raw. Instead, from the spring of 1993 until the spring of 1997, Raw would tape several episodes at a time after a live broadcast had aired. This wasn't such a problem back in the early 90's, as results spoilers were far less prevalent in the pre-internet era and at a time when dirtsheets were more of a niche aspect. Nowadays, Raw is live every week, which is a remarkable feat of WWE's production power.
