Winifred 'Winona Littleheart' Childree, a member of The Fabulous Moolah's coterie of ladies wrestlers best known for her Native American gimmick, died on 9 May. She was 64 years old.

The stepdaughter of wrestler Dick Barkley, Childree was raised in the business, making her debut at the age of just 20 in 1976. She soon made a name for herself across the bulk of the NWA's most notable territories, as the fringed-vested, feather-bedecked Native American Winona Littleheart.

It was whilst competing in the WWWF in the late '70s that Childree hooked up with women's wrestling powerbroker Fabulous Moolah, becoming part of her stable and even training a certain Wendi Richter - arguably Moolah's most infamous opponent. During her spell in New York, Childree unsuccessfully challenged for Leilani Kai's WWF Women's title.

After leaving WWF, Childree resumed her career in the NWA's remaining territories, first under the guise of Cindy Lou, and then as Kevin Sullivan abductee The Lock. The latter moniker saw Childree fully subsumed by Sullivan's gothic stylings, sporting a mohawk and eventually partnering with the similarly bizarre Luna Vachon.
