Gail and Maria exchange a war of words, where Maria claims she wants to help Gail become "mainstream", but when Gail rebuffs her, Maria says, "Gail, you're the problem, you're the leader. And you know what they say? A fish rots from the head, and you stink, champ." Maria then follows up with a statement that's hard not to read as at least accidentally racist, "People like you don't tell me what to do. People like you work for people like me." Perhaps it's just because we're so used to seeing white people use the phrase "people like you" against other races and minorities that it made Maria sound like she was insulting Gail's heritage. Plus, what kinda work does Maria think Gail should be doing for her? Moving on...
