25 Best WWE Raw Matches Ever

10. Marty Jannetty Vs Doink (June 21st, 1993)

CM Punk John Cena
WWE

Working to maintain a healthy relationship with the company after one too many false stars in recent years, Marty Jannetty produced some of the best work of his career in 1993 even after losing the Intercontinental Title back to Shawn Michaels.

Adding to matches with his former partner and a later spell working alongside the 1-2-3 Kid, a summer series with Doink produced a remarkable two-out-of-three falls payoff. The psychopathic clown again exhibited exactly why his misunderstood gimmick was no laughing matter, showing aptitude between the ropes that mirrored his deft balance unicycling to the ring for the match itself.

Doink was absolutely vile on offence. Faux apologies followed cynical slaps and wicked laughs as Marty tried to survive the physical and psychological onslaught. Taking the first fall with his Whoopee Cushion finisher was painfully appropriate for the circus outcast, but Marty's underrated sympathetic heft encouraged the crowd to drive him forward to levelling the playing field.

It was at this point a second Doink dove under the ring, deployed late by the evil for a match-winning piledriver on the shattered former Rocker. Fortunately for Jannetty, ringside commentator Randy Savage decked the doppelgänger and revealed the ruse. A reversed decision never triggered such euphoria.
