A wonderful (and logical) payoff to the Mankind babyface turn and Dude Love transformation Mick Foley underwent in 1997, the return of Cactus Jack to pro wrestling for a Madison Square Garden Street Fight with Triple H was a rare act of alter-ego acknowledgment from WWE.

A blizzard of roars echoed throughout the hallowed halls at his arrival, quickly amplified by a brutal trash can shot from Jack to Hunter as the war commenced. The New York loyalists were never given a chance to catch their breath after that opening shot.

Alongside an burgeoning on-screen partnership with off-screen best mate Shawn Michaels, the future 'Game's feud with Foley had aided Triple H's own metamorphosis from Greenwich snob to jagged pr*ck, allowing him to take the fight right back to the deranged former ECW and WCW madman. A brawl to the floor resulted in both enduring ungodly punishment on the unforgiving steel ramp, before Jack's match-winning piledriver on Hunter through a table at the top of the stage made for an instantly iconic finale.
