Traditionally, professional wrestling and machismo go hand in hand. The classic era of the 1980s saw musclebound heroes clash with monstrous villains, trading power-based moves and cutting bombastic promos at one another. Bret Hart changed the game as his rose to the top of the card, in the early 90s, not only with his highly technical in-ring style, but with his attire as well. The hallmarks of the 80s remained - the long hair and the flamboyant colours of the Hart Foundation - but in his new role as the next big thing, Hart's look became synonymous with change. He was smaller and arguable less charismatic then the traditional WWF Champion, but these limitations didn't prevent Bret from looking the part.
