7. Mr. McMahon

The only authority figure beyond the one he ripped off on Nitro to actually justify so much time on the show for a spell at least, Vince McMahon was a perfect foil for Stone Cold Steve Austin by virtue of being the only man 'The Rattlesnake' just couldn't topple.

Their push-pull relationship as boss and insubordinate subordinate was the backbone of the company's rocket-like ascent back into the American mainstream, and allowed Vince to (partially, at least) live out the performance dreams his father always quashed.

His story as a character is one of two halves, with an over-indulgence in pantomime villainy and a lack of rivals mirroring the charisma and chemistry of Austin later in his lifespan often diluting the legendary memories of his ratings-grabbing efforts with 'The Rattlesnake'. Unlike his idiotic daughter and doofus son-in-law and the rest of his stupid family, he's still a draw too. A Vince return almost always pops a number for the flagship. It's a testament to the treasured memories of the character that lapsed fans still return chasing another hit.
