"Vince, The Rock thinks you should fire him" - Monday Night Raw,

The night Rocky Maivia definitively became The Rock wasn't the official kick-off of his own career, but his ability to place himself back in the conversation as game-changers Vince McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin continued their hostilities plainly positioned Dwayne Johnson as the next one marked for superstar supremacy on the Chairman's list.

It was an interjection so gloriously simple but so symbolic of everything 'The Great One' would become in front of a live microphone. It stole the show with the panache of ten Shawn Michaels matches, and was perhaps why he became ten times the crossover star any of his contemporaries ever were. You could count on Homer Simpson's hand the amount of performers with as tight a control on audience emotion as 'The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment', and even those would require some debate.
