25 Greatest WWE SummerSlam Matches EVER
16. The Undertaker Vs Edge (SummerSlam 2008)
A glorious and grisly payoff to one of the longest simmering rivalries in the company's post-Attitude Era tenure, The Undertaker's decisive Hell in a Cell victory over Edge capped off the best non-WrestleMania match period of 'The Deadman's entire career.
Exhibiting the chemistry that had carried their rivalry through multiple pay-per-views that year including a magnificent WrestleMania main event, the SummerSlam show-closer even fed into Edge's own return the prior November in a separate Hell In A Cell contest featuring Batista.
An even-handed match eventually went in favour of Undertaker, as he completed a sequence that gave the wily heel absolutely no chance of recourse. Chokeslamming Edge through a table, then hitting a Spear, then a shot with the camera as Edge had done in Taker's aforementioned defeat against 'The Animal', then hitting a con-chair-to and then a Tombstone, Undertaker made Edge feel every pain he had endured during the remarkable series.
