10. Bret Hart Vs British Bulldog (SummerSlam 1992)

Few recommendations for the legendary British Bulldog/Bret Hart match rank as highly as 'The Hitman's own.

Considering it his best ever performance in his exceptional autobiography, Bret recounts crafting the story of the contest out exactly as it eventually played out, highlighting his inch-perfect understanding of how to emotionally involve a crowd as well as ability to guide his opponent through the match after the nerve-wracked (and, allegedly crack-addled) challenger completely forgot the plan.

As Bret writes, Bulldog and attempted to calm himself down in the build-up to their historic Intercontinental Title classic by going on an almighty summer bender with Jim Neidhart, rendering him useless at retaining the vast well of intricate spots the nuanced clash was set to feature. Always able to take guidance well at least, Bulldog listened attentively and contributed his end to an absorbing clash that provided one of WWE's biggest ever crowds with a fittingly epic main event and victory for the hometown hero.
