25 Greatest WWE WrestleMania Matches Ever
3. The Undertaker Vs. Shawn Michaels (WrestleMania 25)
Random is good. For instance, Michaels' sudden desire to end Undertaker's two-decades-long WrestleMania winning streak was random, but it was good, because WrestleMania 25 was going to need an epic encounter that two wrestlers of their ilk could produce. This was more evident in the aftermath of the mostly-mediocre show, but man, what a showstealer we got.
In the modern WWE age, the common main event without interference is finisher, kickout, finisher, kickout, but nothing from 2009 onward (save for CM Punk vs. John Cena at Money in the Bank) touches Undertaker's 17th WrestleMania win. Michaels shifting between 'determined competitor' and 'willing to take a countout win' was more story than we're used to out of matches that are sold solely on the promised quality of action. Nothing was going to follow this.
