25 Most Important WWE Stars Of The 21st Century So Far
5. Shawn Michaels
Even though his best years - in terms of physical condition - were very much at the end of the 20th century, that didn't stop Shawn Michaels surging towards the top of this list. As mentioned with Triple H, he is one of the company's biggest money-makers with all that D-Generation X merchandise. When they put the stable back together a few years ago, it sent things into orbit as far as introducing DX to a new generation of wrestling fans went. More recently, he saw his career come to an end in perhaps the most dramatic way possible - with a series of matches against The Undertaker at WrestleMania. The pair of contests the two had rank alongside some of the greatest matches in the history of the WWE, and were a superb advert for the company and its ability to entertain. He continues to appear on WWE TV to this day, and Shawn Michaels' popularity as a WWE icon will never be forgotten.
