25 Lamest WWE SummerSlam Moments Of All Time
12. Triple H Beats Goldberg In The Elimination Chamber - SummerSlam 2003
Bill Goldberg was the last true megastar WCW created, but his one year tenure in WWE was so badly mishandled (or intentionally sabotaged) that he has spent over a decade badmouthing the company, Vince McMahon, and Triple H. Goldberg debuted at Backlash 2003 with a win over The Rock, then proceeded to defeat Chris Jericho, but running into HHH stalled any momentum he had accrued.
In WCW, Goldberg was booked as a world-destroying monster, but WWE only committed to that depiction halfheartedly. At SummerSlam 2003, Goldberg was placed in the second-ever Elimination Chamber match, along with Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, Kevin Nash, Chris Jericho, and World Heavyweight Champion Triple H. Goldberg was the last man to enter the match and immediately went on a tear, pinning and eliminating Orton, Michaels, and Jericho in rapid succession.
Goldberg looked to be on his way to recapturing championship gold and his WCW mystique, but Ric Flair slid a sledgehammer into the ring and "The Game" used it on Goldberg, then pinned him. It was a completely unnecessary win for Triple H, as he was working injured and ended up losing the title to Goldberg the following month. All the result did was shatter any aura Goldberg had accumulated and end SummerSlam on a sour note.
