After cutting his infamous "pipe bomb" promo on Raw in June of 2011, CM Punk became the hottest thing in wrestling. As the weeks ticked on and he vowed to win the WWE Title from John Cena and leave the company with it, his momentum increased to the point where he looked like a true successor to Stone Cold Steve Austin. At Money in the Bank 2011, Punk won the title from Cena in an amazing match, blew Vince McMahon a goodbye kiss, and left through the crowd. From a story standpoint, it was potentially the greatest night in company history.

Punk came back a mere eight days later, but in a SummerSlam rematch with Cena, he was victorious again, cementing himself as the true WWE Champion. The sky was the limit for Punk -- or it would have been, had Kevin Nash (last seen as a nostalgia entry in the 2011 Royal Rumble) not run in, planted him with a Powerbomb, and left him easy prey for Money in the Bank briefcase holder Alberto Del Rio.

Punk became mired in a feud with Nash, then Triple H -- neither of which saw him gain a victory over his foe. CM Punk soon became WWE Champion again, but he was just a star -- not the true superstar he could have been. His career could have been so much more, but it wasn't -- thanks to Kevin Nash... in 2011. Nash's completely-out-of-left-field interference remains the lamest moment in SummerSlam history.
