25 Most Memorable Wrestling Promos Of All-Time

25. The Rock Discusses Armageddon

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0Xi1GI42U4 When he's "on", there is probably nobody in the history of wrestling with as much natural charisma as The Rock. He is able to take a microphone and hold thousands of people in the palm of his hand, hanging on every word he says. His comedic timing, over-the-top personality and striking looks made him the perfect choice to become a star in Hollywood. If there is one detriment to Rock's promo work, it's that a lot of them tend to blend together in a giant mass of catchphrases and one-liners. Even his biggest fans will tell you that many of his promos can be formulaic. This one, leading up to 2000's Armageddon pay-per-view, tends to be a stand-out because of how rapid fire it was. Going into a six-man Hell In A Cell, Rock would impersonate all five of his opponents and do it well. Making fun of Kurt Angle's wholesome personality, Rikishi's monotone promo delivery and his choice of in-ring attire, The Undertaker's switch from "Deadman" to "American Badass", Triple H's vocal inflection and Steve Austin's fake tough guy persona, all one after another made for an incredibly entertaining couple minutes. He didn't need to speak for 20 minutes to work out well. He got right to the point and said what needed to be said. It's a tip that many wrestlers could really learn these days.
