25 Most Revealing WWE Instagram Posts Of The Week (Jan 7)
New Year's celebrations, new title holders, and pipebombs on WWE Instagram this week.
Proving once again that Vinnie Mac's company work best with their backs up against the wall, a last-minute COVID-19-induced change of plan on the night of Day 1 saw a Tribal Chief left on the sidelines and a Beast thrown into a four-way for the WWE title.
Sure enough, Lesnar chewed up and spat out Monday Night's finest, setting up a mouth-watering showdown with another former MMA badass at the Royal Rumble in just a few weeks time. What a difference a week makes, eh?
This wasn't the only monumental title change of the last seven days, though, with a Steiner ripping the NXT title away from Blackheart in an outstanding New Year's Evil main event that washed away the memories of a sometimes lacklustre 100%, official, this is definitely the end, goodbye to black and gold life. Hammering home this farewell to an era fans once adored was the announcement of a whole host of further releases from the company as Triple H's squad was completely ravaged in one last middle finger to The Game's game.
But there's no time to mourn over the passing of NXT 1.0 or departures of Regals and Joes. WWE have a Road to WrestleMania to get over and what better way to get eyes on your product than to have one of your biggest stars change their name to "Freakin'" before throwing them into a no doubt short-lived team with another under-appreciated stalwart? You love to see it.
And you also love to see The Rock chowing down on MASSIVE slices of french toast on Instagram, no doubt...
