25 Reasons Why WWE Hell In A Cell 2019 Was An Absolute Mess

5. THAT Finish

Seth Rollins blood

WWE ended a Hell In A Cell match in a no contest for the second year running, with the referee decreeing that Seth Rollins bringing a sledgehammer into play was one step too far in a bout that literally has hell in its name.

So, to clarify:-

The Undertaker throwing Mankind from the roof? Fine.

The Undertaker Chokeslamming Mankind through the roof? Cool.

Mick Foley going through the structure and the ring by Triple H's hand? No problem.

Rikishi crashing down from the roof and landing on a truck bed? Sure.

... but Rollins using a sledgehammer? That's too much, pal! Shut it down!

This is indefensible garbage. It makes a complete mockery of a stipulation that the fans seemingly respect more than the promotion and effectively kills it dead, given that it's the second time this has happened in as many years. How could anyone care about this seemingly imposing structure going forward?

"Well they couldn't have Seth lose," one might argue. But... why? The guy isn't over to any meaningful level. Sure, he gets nice pops, but where are the metrics showing that Rollins is a needle-mover? Where are the numbers? Where are the ratings spikes and bumper live attendances with him booked on top?

They don't exist.
