8. He Tried To Sign Hulk Hogan & Macho Man Randy Savage In 1996

In the very same year he bantered them off with the poorly-recieved Billionaire Ted skits, Vince McMahon tried to sign both Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage back in 1996 right as the former had become the hottest star in the industry again and the latter had potentially worn out his babyface welcome in Atlanta.

Hogan claimed McMahon offered him $5million to return and win the 1997 Royal Rumble, with Savage coming along as part of a deal that may have dented WCW's surging momentum. This could be grandstanding from 'The Hulkster' of course, but one shocking attempt to relive former glories a year later suggests there may be meat on these bones...
