25 Ways WWE Has Ruined Raw
9. Destroying The Hierarchy
There's no sense of hierarchy on Raw anymore. A few exceptions aside (Brock Lesnar at the top; Curt Hawkins on the bottom), everyone feels like they're all on roughly the same level. This is more competitive, certainly, but it's also the primary reason why nobody other than Lesnar feels like a star, and why wins and losses no longer matter.
If Dean Ambrose pins The Miz on a random episode of Raw, it doesn't mean a thing. Why? Because 'The A-Lister' is likely to get his win back the very next week, keeping him and Ambrose on the same base level. Everyone is 'just a guy.' There are no stars, no underdogs, no more shock results, and it absolutely sucks.
Razor Ramon vs. 1-2-3 Kid remains an iconic Raw match because the latter was naught but a scrawny little rookie who entered with a one-in-a-million shot of toppling his celebrated opponent, and he hit the jackpot. Their hierarchical differences made the moment, but these things are impossible on Raw in 2018, as there's no differentiation.
A shame, but such is life in a company so hopelessly devoted to 50/50 booking, who attempt to push everyone at once, but succeed in pushing nobody at all.
