25 Ways WWE Has Ruined Raw

21. Product Placement

There's an art to effective product placement. A skilled producer will be able to splice it in without making a song and dance, giving said product enough exposure to leave an impression without distracting the audience: a fine balance, and one WWE seemingly have no interest in mastering.

Product placement isn't really a thing on SmackDown, given the show's smaller audience, but Raw has become a vehicle for such promotions on countless occasions. WWE's approach is ham-fisted in the extreme. They'll ensure the product completely dominates the screen, and will often go back to it several times within a single show, just to make sure you're paying attention. Why? Firstly, partly because they're slaves to advertising dollars, but they've also no concept of subtlety, hence their tendency to jam cans of Dr. Pepper and Sonic Drive-In meals down our throats.
