25 WTF Moments From WCW Souled Out 1998

20. WCW Boston Brawl?!

When you're watching a show from 1998, the last thing you expect to see is an advertisement for an internet pay-per-view. But that's what WCW was promoting here. "This isn't a Boston tea party", the ad explained as it told you to head to the website on January 31st for the firstever wrestling show broadcast on the internet. I did some research, since I'd never heard of it, and apparently WCW did a few of these in 1998. The problem being, since Wi-Fi wasn't around yet, nobody could load the video required to watch the show so in the end if you paid the $7.95 you got to hear the audio commentary on the matches and every 30 seconds you'd see a still screen of action that your dialup internet had managed to load. In theory it was a great idea but, sadly, the technology just wasn't there to support it. For anyone wondering, the main event of Boston Brawl was Sting against Hollywood Hogan - in a cage!
