26 WTF Moments From WWE RAW (August 22)
22. Why's He So Happy?
Considering he was moments away from relinquishing the WWE Universal Championship, the top title he's worked his whole life to achieve, plus the fact he's got six long gruelling months of rehab ahead of him, Finn Balor was looking very pleased with life on his way down to the ring on this week's RAW.
I couldn't think of a reason why until I saw the belt on his shoulder. The relief for Finn knowing that he won't have to carry that monstrosity around the world must have been damn near orgasmic! No wonder he was smiling.
I know fans who have criticised the title have been lambasted for focusing on its aesthetic appeal rather than what it means, but you can't help it when it's clearly such a lazy and massively ugly design.
General Manager Mick Foley took to Facebook to criticise the fans that booed the red belt during Finn and Seth Rollins' match. I find this funny because it's called the WWE Universal Title, it's dedicated to the Universe and the occupant represents WWE's loyal fans the world over.
Why then, when so many of the WWE Universe hate the belt is Mick lambasting them? He's being a tad hypocritical here for me. Fans pay their money, they have a right to chant what they want - not maybe as often as the Barclays Center masses were, but they shouldn't be criticised for making their feelings clear all the same.
