It's widely known that Bobby Lashley originally won the World Title Series before it was decided that the ending would be "re-filmed" for this live show, and so seeing him pitted against EC3 in the semi-final made it agonisingly clear that the final would predictably be EC3 taking on Matt Hardy, given that there was almost zero chance of EC3 being pinned in anything but the final. Wouldn't it have been more interesting to see Lashley take on Matt Hardy in the semi-final instead? Given Hardy's age and the fact he only won the World Title in the first place for the hometown fanfare, it would've been more unpredictable to see Lashley fight Hardy, beat him and take on EC3 in the final.
