Promos aired throughout Extreme Rules announced that King of the Ring would be returning for a live special this Tuesday night, exclusively on the WWE Network. Though the reveal that the WWE would be bringing back the former flagship event was itself pretty shocking, the most surprising thing was that it was done with such little fanfare: the commentators barely made any reference to it at all throughout the PPV, despite King of the Ring being of major significance to many older fans of the product. Whether the show will have any meaning whatsoever beyond being filler content on the Network remains to be seen, though if they put some effort into it, it could easily be more entertaining than the rather paltry show that was Extreme Rules. As for who should win it? After Rusev's losing twice in a row on PPV, it would probably make sense to give it to him...
