3 Ups & 10 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept. 6)

3. The Winners Weren’t Even In It

Only in WWE can a seven-team tag team turmoil match be won by an eighth team that entered the lengthy contest after it had already started.

And only in WWE would that team that goes on to win be the same team that lost a tag title match cleanly the previous week. And only in WWE would that heel team be laid out for the second consecutive week to close Raw.

But that’s what we get with WWE these days, as Bobby Lashley and MVP interrupted an opening segment promo to lament their defeat last week before declaring that they wanted to be in the tag turmoil match, which was beginning minutes later. Then they were the last team to enter the match, winning and earning a tag title match for next week.

So the WWE Champion and his manager will compete for the tag titles… because there’s no one else worthy of challenging for the titles, apparently. (More likely, this is building to a Randy Orton/Lashley world title match, which is actually OK, but this is a crappy way of getting there.)
