3 Ups & 10 Downs From WWE Raw (Aug 3)

Ups...

3. Apollo 2 Belts

Issues with The Hurt Business' growing losing habit aside, Apollo Crews and MVP had a good, solid wrestling match to open last night's RAW, with Crews finally cementing himself the "true" United States Champion by walking away with both belts.

A bout that was supposed to go down at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules concluded when Apollo emerged from an attempted German Suplex unscathed, then hit his sitout Powerbomb for the win. He looked good throughout, working hard against a veteran performer who still has enough left in the tank to be a RAW fixture, and claimed he was going to hang the old US Title in his kid's bedroom in a post-match interview.

MVP refused to take the result lying down, challenging Crews to a SummerSlam rematch. The feud rumbles on.

Perhaps SummerSlam will bring MVP's first big victory in this ongoing storyline? Regardless, it's impossible to fault the wrestlers' efforts here.
