3 Ups & 10 Downs From WWE Raw (Aug 3)

1. Building The Big Fight

Drew McIntyre

The Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton feud has to start moving away from McIntyre saying "hey, remember that time I failed?", as it does more to undermine the WWE Champion than put over his fight to finally reach the top of the mountain. Other than that, Orton and McIntyre did a stellar job this week.

McIntyre once again highlighted the differences between him and Orton, stating that he scratched and clawed his way to the top while Orton sat pretty in an Evolution limousine. Out came the 'Legend Killer,' who said that he, too, should have been sacked years ago, but wasn't because of his value to the company, leading to Drew claiming Randy had never served anybody other than himself.

The WWE Champion claimed SummerSlam would see him kick the head off the "selfish pr*ck" standing before him, and that was that. Promo battle over.

These guys are both operating near career-best levels at the moment. Each is excelling at presenting their SummerSlam main event like the huge fight it is, and with their segment the only genuinely great thing on the episode, they deserve the highest praise.
