3 Ups & 10 Downs From WWE Raw (Aug 3)

Downs...

R-Truth stealing Shelton Benjamin's 24/7 Championship was part of last night's "chaos," leading to a Triple Threat putting Truth, the former 'Gold Standard,' and Akira Tozawa against each other for the strap, from which WWE's resident ninja emerged victorious.

This was a big pile of nothing.

The bout only lasted a few minutes but still grated, with the contrivance of WWE suspending the 24/7 rules for the bout only to reinstate them immediately after the bell (hence Tozawa fleeing) coming into play. Three talented wrestlers farted around and hit a bunch of moves with no real structure while MVP and Bobby Lashley took out the ninjas, after which Tozawa scored the pin.

A gag that his long outlived its use (and funniness), the 24/7 Championship is a pointless inclusion on RAW at the moment. At least the old skits were funny...
