3 Ups & 12 Downs From WWE Raw (May 31)
7. What’s Next To Build Title Feud?
With two episodes of Raw to go until Hell in a Cell, you almost have to cringe at what WWE might do next to build the feud between Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair.
We’ve already seen Flair lose to Asuka, then beat her to earn the title shot, and now two weeks in a row of Nikki Cross beating Charlotte and Rhea in 2-minute beat the clock challenges… because that really makes us want to see those two battle each other for the Raw Women’s Championship. Yep, arguing over who can beat Cross (who’s been treated like a total jobber) is the perfect way to build a feud.
Nothing happened on Monday to develop what should be a major feud between one of WWE’s most established, bankable stars and their new women’s superstar of the future. It just felt like they’re trying to fill time because they don’t have an actual story to tell, so this beat the clock deal was designed to kill a couple of weeks.
And that’s never a good feeling when you’re trying to build up a new champion.
