2. Percy Watson's Commentary

For the umpteenth week in a row, it took me half an hour to realise that Percy Watson was even at the booth.

It’s not as if he said anything insightful either. Perhaps the Full Sail din had dimmed just long enough for his quiet, generic tones to ring out. As Damo was finally confirmed as the fourth member of SAnitY, Watson emerged from underneath his rock. “I think SAnitY just got a new member!” he pointed out, helpfully. On the few occasions he managed to pipe up, he uttered nothing insightful. “I’ll tell you one thing,” he tried to gravely intone as he surveyed the damage incurred by Shane Thorne, in a hastily re-taped beatdown angle, at the hands of The Revival: “It’s not good.”

Watson is succinct, if nothing else. He’s new to a game which, to be fair, far superior talkers than him have struggled with. One Mick Foley had a stint in the SmackDown booth that was anonymous as it was brief.

The man had bags of personality when he starred in season two of the original, inexplicable, counterproductive game show that was NXT, pre-Full Sail reorientation. Maybe a heel turn - that failsafe litmus test of personality discovery - is required.
